The Tinghir province experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday evening, leading to severe flooding and agricultural losses, particularly in the communities of Tilmi and Amsrire. Meteorological stations recorded varying amounts of rainfall across different parts of the province.

According to official reports, Tilmi recorded the highest rainfall at 25 millimeters, followed by Assoul with 18 millimeters and Ait Hani with 10 millimeters. Other areas reported lower amounts, with Amsrire receiving 7 millimeters and Iknioun recording just 2 millimeters.

The heavy rains caused flash floods in the areas of Tilmi and Amsrire, resulting in significant agricultural losses and a sharp rise in water levels in the Imdghas River, which originates from upper Tilmi and flows into the Mansour Eddahbi Dam in Ouarzazate.

In response to these exceptional weather conditions, Ismail Heikal, the Governor of Tinghir Province, conducted a field visit last night to the areas of Ait Sedrate and Boumalne Dades. The purpose of the visit was to closely monitor the situation and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and minimize potential damages.

Responsible sources revealed that the Governor of Tinghir Province, Ismail Heikal, spent a sleepless night in the Dades area after receiving information about the rising water levels of the Dades River. The regional official gave strict instructions to local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, and various concerned departments to be present on the ground and evacuate citizens from the riverbanks, as many had gathered to witness the power of the flash floods.

The same sources reported that several roads along the Dades River have been cut off due to the severe flooding. Efforts are currently underway, with machinery being deployed to restore normal conditions. Fortunately, the recorded losses are limited to material damage, with no human casualties reported.
