Al-Ahli Moves to Borrow National Basketball Team Coach

“Al-Ayam Sports” has learned that Al-Ahli Club is in official communication with the Bahrain Basketball Federation to request the loan of the Lebanese national basketball team coach, Jad El-Hajj, to lead Al-Ahli’s first team during the international competitions’ break.

“Al-Ayam Sports” has also learned that once the national team completes its international and local engagements, El-Hajj and his assistant team will take over coaching Al-Ahli Club after their participation in the Gulf Teams Championship, which is scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from September 2 to 7. This will be followed by the qualifiers for the 2025 Asia Cup. Following the national team’s return from its external training camp in Puerto Rico, it is expected that moves will be made to finalize the arrangement officially among all concerned parties.

It is worth noting that coach Jad El-Hajj is one of the most prominent coaches in Arab basketball, having achieved numerous accomplishments in his career. These include leading the Lebanese national team to the 2019 Basketball World Cup finals, winning the West Asia Basketball Championship with the Lebanese team five times, and guiding Al Riyadi Beirut Club to ten Lebanese Basketball League titles.
